Bayan Ulgii

Bayan-Ulgii Aimag is Mongolian’s “Roof of the World”, a remote land of high mountains, even glaciers, steep slopes and rushing torrents.
Bayan-Ulgii Aimag has an area of 45,700 square kilometers and an estimated population of 96,900 inhabitants. The majority of the people are Kazakhs.
The administrative center is the town of Ulgii, in the valley of the Khovd River, at an altitude of 1,710 meters above sea level, and 1.636 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.



Hot spring
Chigirtein Rashaan is hot spring 50 kilometers west of Deluun Soum, at 2,480 meters above sea level, with components including sulphur and hydrogen.

Larch forests of Mongol Altai
This new National Park includes very high peaks, with eternal snow and glaciers in the Far West Mongolia. The National Park includes 636,200 hectares in Bayan Ulgii aimag.
The highest point is the peak of Khuiten Uul on the mountain of Altai Tavan Bogd, reaching 4,374 meters above sea level.

Human rocks
Human rocks at the Khu-Yui of Dayan lake has been enjoyed the state protection since 1998.

Monument of Tsagaan salaa
This complex consists of about 10.000 paintings, is located sequence in 15km on the south slope of the mountain and rock painting of Baga Oigor River. This monument was registered as a World heritage from UNESCO in 1996 and has been protected since 1998.
